Sean Young & James Woods

in 1988 James Woods sued Sean Young for 6 million dollars, accusing the actress of stalking him and his fiance after the pair appeared together in the 1987 drama The Boost. By many accounts from the set, including the screenwriter,  the pair had had a tumultuous and passionate affair while filming that ended badly, however both parties deny it, stating the other was offended when their advances were spurned. In his suit Woods alleged that Young

• trampled $500 worth of flowers in his Beverly Hills garden
• sent him hate mail and pictures of dead animals
• made threatening phone calls to his home
• left a mutilated doll with makeup caked on it’s face, outside of his front door
• signed him & his fiance up for anti-abortion mailing lists

Young denied the charges but commented “When someone like Kevin Costner or Jimmy  are doing romantic work, they get agitated, if you know what I mean, and they go home and their agitation is noticeable.”

The suit was settled out of court when Woods paid Young 250,000 dollars.
